The organization: Established in 1982, Micro Industries Development Assistance and Services (MIDAS) is a dedicated private-sector promotion organization focused on fostering the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Bangladesh. Our services encompass financial support, technical assistance, training, and consultancy for both existing and aspiring entrepreneurs. Job context: Presently MIDAS is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates to fill the position of DGM / GM for immediate appointment. In this role, the person will have overall responsibility for managing and coordinating the organization’s overall services & operations, improving efficiency, and smooth fund management. He/She is also responsible for formulating overall strategy, managing people, and establishing policies. This position is expected to design strategies and set goals for growth, campaign for different programs, optimize use of budgets and expenses, ensure organization’s activities are sustainable and projects are productive by making effective assessments. This position should also evaluate and improve employee assessment process, prepare regular reports for Board and senior management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with organization’s overall Goals
- Prepare project proposals including budgets and monitor the execution and completion of projects with timeline and deliverables.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients/stakeholders
- Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team, providing guidance and support
- Researching and identifying growth opportunities and partnerships in women & youth development programs, research opportunities and humanitarian initiatives.
- Collaborate with service oriented teams to promote competitive advantages.
- Stay abreast of industry trends in Govt. Non Govt. and Development sectors and advancements.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures.
- Establish and maintain quality standards for services and deliverables
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Mitigate risks and address legal issues as needed
- Facilitate transparent communication within the organization and associated entities.
- Generating reports and giving presentations.
Qualifications and requirements
- Masters / MBA from any discipline (Business, Management, Science, Public Administration, Development Studies or any professional degree with a proven career track record in Govt. Non Govt. Development sector or having senior level position with organizational leadership and managerial capability in relevant area.
- Strong understanding of community development activities, CSR projects, Research and Consultancy works.
- Knowledge of process and functions (Finance, HR, Procurement, Audit, Operations etc.)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
- Financial acumen and experience in budget management
- Strong presentation, motivation & facilitation skill. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Age limit 45-50 years
- Minimum 12 years in a leadership role
- Management has the right to make exceptions for deserving candidates.
