Ms. Parveen Mahmud has been elected as the new Chairman of Micro Industries Development Assistance and services (MIDAS) by MIDAS Board of Directors in the MIDAS Board Meeting held on Monday, February 20, 2017. MIDAS Board of Directors also included Mr. Abdul Karim, Mr. Hafizuddin Khan and Mr. Ghulam Rahman as new Directors from MIDAS General Body.
MIDAS Board members, Ms. Rokia A. Rahman, Maj. Gen. Mahabbat Jan Chowdhury (Retd.), Mr. Shaikh A. Halim, Mr. Bazlur Rahman Khan, Ms. Sabina Alam, and Dr. A. S. M. Mashi-ur-Rahman, Managing Director welcomed them.
Currently, Ms. Mahmud is the Managing Director of Grameen Telecom Trust. Ms. Parveen Mahmud, FCA in her diversified professional career, has wide experience in the social development sector and was a practicing chartered accountant. She is the Council member and was the first female President, of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). She also the first female board member of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), apex accounting professional body of the SAARC. Mrs. Mahmud was the member, National Advisory Panel for SME Development of Bangladesh. And founding board member of SME Foundation and Convenor, SME Women’s Forum. She is the Chairperson, Shasha Denims Ltd.
