
MS. PARVEEN MAHMUD, FCA
CHAIRMAN
Ms. Parveen Mahmud, FCA, is a distinguished professional with significant contributions to finance, social development, and entrepreneurship. She served as the Chairperson of the Board of Governors at RDRS Bangladesh and was the Founding Managing Director of Grameen Telecom Trust. Additionally, she held key positions as Deputy Managing Director of PKSF, Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), and Advisor to the Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs (BFWE). Throughout her career, she has been actively engaged in social innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development at the grassroots level. A practicing Chartered Accountant, she made history as the first female President of ICAB in 2011 and the first female board member of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), the apex accounting body of SAARC. She served on the ICAB Council for three terms and played a pioneering role as the Founding Chairperson of the CA Female Forum – Women in Leadership Committee at ICAB until 2019. Additionally, she was the Vice Chairperson of the Women in Leadership Committee at SAFA from 2018 to 2020.
Ms. Mahmud holds board memberships in several prestigious organizations, including BRAC International, Manusher Jonnyo Foundation, PKSF, CPD, Ghashful, Heroes for All, and Cider International School. She also serves as an Independent Director at Apex Footwear Ltd., Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd., and Mario Bangladesh Ltd. Previously, she chaired MIDAS, Shasha Denims Ltd., Underprivileged Children’s Education Program (UCEP) Bangladesh, and the Acid Survivors’ Foundation. She has also contributed to SME development as a member of the National Advisory Panel for SME Development in Bangladesh and a founding board member of the SME Foundation.
Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Mahmud has been actively involved in Lions Clubs International, serving as President of the Lions Club of Chittagong Parijat Elite and as Cabinet Treasurer of District 315-B4, Chittagong, Bangladesh. Her contributions to finance, social development, and women’s empowerment have been widely recognized, earning her several prestigious awards. She received the “Top 50” Global Professional and Career Women Award 2023 (Sri Lanka & Maldives) in the category of Leadership in Finance and Accounting, along with accolades such as the Chittagong Digest Women’s Day Award (2020), Anannya Top Ten Women-2018 Award (2019), Joya Alokito Nari Award (2018) from RTV, “Women at Work” Award (2017) from BASIS, “Women of Inspiration” Award (2017) from BOLD, and the Rokeya Shining Personality Award (2006) from Narikantha Foundation. Her unwavering dedication to advancing finance, entrepreneurship, and women’s leadership continues to inspire professionals across Bangladesh and beyond.
